Founded by Vici Blenkharn in 2009, Artcadia™ is a design and letterpress company based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. From bespoke wedding and event invitations to every day stationery and greetings cards, every single item that leaves Artcadia is an originally designed, carefully considered, expertly crafted piece of art.

Vici heads design and loves working with clients on bespoke projects. Having 13 years experience in the wedding industry, she is well practised in designing letterpress invitations and adding a bit of Artcadia beauty to special occasions around the world. She believes in the power of socially responsible design and is passionate about sustainable practices, preservation of the art of print, letterpress and classic typography. In 2018, Vici’s husband Adam joined Artcadia and heads the printing side of the business. The studio is home to two Heidelberg platen presses and a variety of other printing and finishing equipment. Artcadia offer letterpress, hot foil, embossing and digital printing.  Artcadia is often noted for their personal service, hand drawn illustrations and keen eye for detail that ensures consistent paper perfection. They are faithful lovers of the historic craft of letterpress and honour the tradition of print design with a very contemporary sensibility, combining considered design with soft papers and letterpress printing.

In 2018 Artcadia developed a line of stationery, greetings cards, gifts wraps and art prints for retail, which they sell direct (here) and through their stockists worldwide, the most notable being Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Daylesford Organic.

GREEN POLICY

We believe in the creation of beautiful things and we want, like you, to feel good about where our beautiful things come from and how they are made. We print sustainably, doing things all responsible printers should do. We use vegetable oil based inks. We use low-VOC and citrus-based solvents. We recycle our paper offcuts, and printing plates. Old ink tins and used rags are kept out of landfill. We use recycled packaging materials and reuse packing materials from our vendors wherever possible. We donate surplus paper and envelopes to our children's primary school.

We print on cotton paper and FSC certified paper. Cotton is a sustainable and renewable resource. Our cotton paper is extremely soft, luxuriously thick, and has a satin feel. It's also perfect for letterpress. FSC certified papers are sourced in an environmentally-friendly and socially responsible manner.

All of our products are designed and printed in the UK, mostly in our Shrewsbury studio on our Heidelberg platen presses. All of our paper and card stocks sourced from UK Paper Mills.

We will continue to challenge ourselves to do better.
